The eastern North America mature deciduous forests are increasing their carbon (C) sink, which is believed to be due to a longer growing season.
In this study, we investigated the impacts of land surface phenology (LSP) and carbon uptake phenology (CUP) on the net ecosystem productivity (NEP) of the two longest-running flux tower sites in the region.
The garden features waterfalls, fish ponds and some of the rarest plant and tree specimens in North America.
The Montrone Legacy Gardens is a private oasis set on 2.5 acres in the heart of Salt Lake City, Utah.
This one-of-a-kind multi-million dollar landscape project, designed to serve as a backyard entertaining space, is a true work of art in nature and the collaborative product of three Utah companies: Pendleton Design Management, Night Vision Landscape Lighting, and Hammerton.
With that being said, you can only imagine how I felt when I found out AIFS was taking me and fellow exchange students on a tour to a chocolate factory. This, I thought, must be how Charlie felt when he won a golden ticket. Upon arriving, I was a little disappointed to find out there wasn’t a chocolate river and not an oompa loompa in sight. Randall had been growing cocoa beans and making chocolate since he was a wee boy and he was going to be our tour guide for the day.
I knew I had my hopes set a little too high with those expectations (a girl can dream, can’t she? He jokingly told us that he believed chocolate should have its own food group in the food pyramid and that no nutritious meal was complete without at least one piece.
Bison are intelligent, wild animals with an excellent sense of hearing and smell.
They are extremely hardy as well as efficient grazers. The National Bison Association encourages the use of the term bison. Correct use of this term helps consumers to differentiate the American buffalo from Asian water buffalo and African cape buffalo which all may be sold as buffalo, though each will have a different nutritional profile and flavor.
For this reason, I’d like to share the knowledge I learned at the chocolate factory.
Please don’t feel obligated to thank me, but if all goes well, by all means send chocolate my way, and lots of it. Cacao trees produce buds year-round in Central America.
The reductions in gaseous and particulate emissions imply the occurrence of direct aerosol mediated brightening and therefore increased PAR and enhanced C uptake by eastern North America mature forests.
